BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:

Raja Madhusudhan Dev college was established on 1990 at Patia, which is situated North-east of Bhubaneswar city. In 1993-94 Bachelor degree in Arts was open with optional subject Education (pass) with other compulsory subject. Till 2003 Education (pass) was a major subject in degree level with good academic performance in 2003. Education Honours was open with 16 seats. It was first honours subject open in this college. From the academic session 2003, the Institution got recognisition and affiliation to impart honours teaching in education. From that time the Department moves on it path of success to achieve academic excellence. In 2017 the seats of department extended from 16 to 32. The Highest first class students are passed out from this department of college and now joined in different job in different sectors. They are proud of this department. This department grows with two senior and experienced faculty members and one Demonstrator to impart teaching in honours as well as Elective subjects. Our staffs are dedicated, hardworking, students friendly.

1. OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT:

   1. To help students acquire knowledge and social skills.
   2. To shape character and behavior of the students.
   3. To enrich academic improvement of the students & teachers.
   4. To conduct seminar & workshop for clear understanding of different topics.
   5. To arrange study tour & picnic once a year to enhance student activities in different field.
   6. To develop leadership qualities among our students through participating in N.S.S, Red-Cross , Sports activities and cultural activities.
   7. To conduct welcome & farewell ceremonies for mutual co-operation among students & teachers.
   8. To encourage involvementof parents in children’s Education.
