BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:

The subject Zoology was incorporated as one of the fundamental essential subject in the college level and got affiliation to Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, with 16 seats in +3 stages in the year 2016 vide Order No-5752/RDE, dt. 11.05.2017. The meeting held on 27.04.2016, Zoology became the affiliated Hon's subject in +3 stages with 16 seats vide Utkal University. From the Academic session 2019 – 20, the seats in Zoology Hons. increases to 32 vide order No. 3871 dt. 24.05.2019. From the time of its inception the department moves on its path of success to achieve academic excellence. The department equipped with three experienced faculty members and one demonstrators to impart teaching in honours as well as General elective subjects. Our teachers are dedicated, hardworking and committed for quality teachings and quality development of students.

1. OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT:

   1. To encourage research activities among the students.
   2. To enrich academic improvement of the students & teachers.
   3. To conduct seminar & workshop for clear understanding of different topics.
   4. To arrange study tour & picnic once a year to enhance student activities in different field.
   5. To develop leadership qualities among our students through participating in N.C.C, N.S.S, Red-Cross & Sports activities.
   6. To conduct welcome & farewell ceremonies for mutual co-operation among students & teachers.
   7. To provide well-furnished laboratory for use of students.
   8. To provide Smart class room learning experience.
