BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:

The subject Home Science was incorporated as one of the essential subject in the degree college the subject was affiliated to Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, with 08 numbers of Honours seats from the academic session 2020-21 and seats in honours was increased to 24 from the academic session 2021-22.
From the time of its inception the department moves on its path of success to achieve academic excellence. The department is equipped with one experienced faculty member and well-maintained laboratory. Faculty of this department is dedicated, hardworking and committed for qualitative teachings and all round development of students.

1. OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT:

   1. To encourage research activities among the students.
   2. To enrich academic improvement of the students & teachers.
   3. To conduct seminar & workshop for clear understanding of different topics.
   4. To arrange study tour & picnic once a year to enhance student activities in different field.
   5. To develop leadership qualities among our students through participating in N.C.C, N.S.S, Red-Cross & Sports activities.
   6. To conduct welcome & farewell ceremonies for mutual co-operation among students & teachers.
   7. To provide well-furnished laboratory for use of students.
   8. To provide Smart class room learning experience.
